EXECUTIVE OFFICERS

Stefania Magidson – President

Inspired by the Everychild Foundation and its effective impact in the lives of needy children in the Los Angeles area, Stefania Magidson founded the Blue Heron Foundation in 2002.  In its first year of operation, with the help of a handful of volunteers, Blue Heron Foundation has attracted numerous prominent donors and volunteers from across the United States, and has more than doubled its initial funding.

Romanian-born, Stefania has lived in the United States since 1983.  In 1990, she received a degree in Public Health from the University of Utah and a master's degree in Applied Psychology from the University of Santa Monica.  She continued doctoral studies in psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology.  Stefania has designed and implemented cardiovascular health programs for the Utah State Health Department at the Center for Disease Control.

Blue Heron Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity organized and operated by volunteers both in the US and in Romania. The foundation’s mission is to provide orphanages throughout Romania with much needed funding to hire additional caregivers, to build playgrounds, libraries and better living facilities.

A avid supporter of the arts and of social causes, she has served as an officer on the board of several non-profit organizations in Los Angeles.  In addition to public service, Stefania's other passion in life is the arts and theatrical productions.

In 2002, Stefania produced Eric Bogosian's "Sex, Drugs, Rock & Roll."  Its leading actor, Florin Piersic, Jr., received the UNITER award for Best Actor that year.  (The UNITER award is Romania's equivalent to the Tony Awards.)

In 2005, Stefania produced, in Los Angeles, Silvian Centiu’s one-man show “A Transylvanian in Silicon Valley.”   All proceeds from the performance were donated to Blue Heron Foundation.

Stefania was voted in the top 20 of Capital magazine’s “100 Most Influential Women in Romania” 2005 list.  She lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Mark, and their two sons.
