All donations received by Blue Heron Foundation go to help Romanian
abandoned children in need. All administration expenses and outside
specialized services are contracted out as needed and paid for by
the founders. We have no large overhead, staff salaries, or rent,
thus 100% of your donation goes directly to the cause.
There are no
fund-raising events or silent auctions to plan. No solicitations
of your friends and business contacts for dinner tickets or auction
items. No contributions to large, national organizations where
your money is just another drop in a very large bucket.
Each year, all
Blue Heron Foundation members have the opportunity to vote from a
ballot on our finalist pre-screened projects. The foundation’s
principals travel at least twice a year to oversee the
implementation of the project(s), attend inaugural events that are
foundation related and visit placement centers which become
potential new receivers of the Foundation’s grants. Once the grant
applications are reviewed, Blue Heron Foundation’s members get to
vote for the final contenders.
