Our mission: Blue Heron Foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life of Romania's orphaned and abandoned children and providing them with greater access to life's opportunities.

Inspired by the Everychild Foundation and its efficient way of making a meaningful inpact in the lives of needy children in the Los Angeles area, Romanian-born Stefania Magidson founded the Blue Heron Foundation in 2002.

The name, which in Native American symbolism stands for "inner reflection and active manifestation of one's spiritual path", mirrors the founder's inner journey at a time when she decided to give back to the less fortunate children left behind in Romania.

Blue Heron Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity organized and operated by volunteers both in the U.S. and in Romania.  The foundation offers college scholarships to orphaned and abandoned children in Romania. 100% of your donation goes directly to projects benefiting the children.
